Job Title: Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in estimating electrical subcontracting projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive bid proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying bids, drawings, and job specifications.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project costs.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and proposal presentations.
• Assist in contract negotiations and ensure compliance with project budgets.
• Utilize estimating software to develop and maintain cost databases.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in a subcontracting environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar tools .
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methodologies, and NEC codes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
