SALARY

The minimum salary is $18.016 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 512

This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour)  and CDL pay ($1.08/hour)  upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this classification is to provide maintenance work, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained city through the operation of necessary equipment to accomplish specified tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent


• One (1) year of experience operating similar equipment


• Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operates equipment including but not limited to backhoe, forklift, dump truck, knuckleboom and tractors


• Performs preventative and needed maintenance on equipment to maintain proper running condition


• Completes construction work on roads, parks, and other government property


• Enters data into a database for tracking of completed orders and creation of reports


• Travels to sites and performs on-site visits and assessments


• Conducts snow and hazardous waste removal


• Assists and supports special events as needed


• Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

• Valid Driver's License


• Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate in order to qualify and must be maintained as a condition of employment.


• Must obtain Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment and must be maintained as a condition of employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification
