Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join our team in Kansas City to support power and industrial projects. This role involves hands-on design using AutoCAD 3D, working with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the design of power plant systems, including turbines, transformers, and high-voltage equipment.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop 3D electrical raceway models , circuit routing, and detailed design drawings using AutoCAD 3D.
• Produce Electrical One-Line, Three-Line, and Relaying Diagrams from engineering specs or verbal descriptions.
• Execute design layouts and calculations for complex electrical systems.
• Design and size components for electrical systems including Steam/Gas Turbines, 480V & 4160V equipment , and Generator Step-up Transformers.
• Perform QA/QC review on drawings and maintain structured project documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers across disciplines.
• Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements .

What We’re Looking For:

• 6+ years of experience in Electrical Design, including 3+ years in power plant or heavy industrial settings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 3D and design documentation workflows.
• Strong understanding of raceway and cable routing design , especially for power systems.
• Experienced with industrial-grade equipment including turbines and transformers.
• Proficient in Excel and other calculation/design tools.
• Excellent problem-solving , attention to detail , and communication skills .

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with design codes and regulatory requirements .
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary engineering environments .
• Ability to manage and revise complex design documents independently.
