The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all athletes are physically and mentally prepared to meet the demands of professional soccer. This includes the development and implementation of a comprehensive performance strategy that aligns with the club's philosophy and playing style, as well as the design and delivery of strength and conditioning, injury prevention, recovery, and nutrition programs. The role also involves monitoring and analyzing player performance data, collaborating with coaches and medical staff, and leading sports science initiatives to optimize player development. Applicants for the Head of Performance role at the company should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in high-performance environments, preferably in elite youth or professional soccer. Certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist is required, along with experience in sports technology and data analytics. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of soccer-specific fitness requirements, periodization, and training load management, and a proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication, leadership skills, and a passion for player development are essential, as is the ability to work flexible hours and travel as needed. Preferred qualifications include experience in an MLS Academy or similar elite development pathway, coaching certifications, and a background in applied research.
