Job Title: Plumbing Mechanic

Location: Chesapeake, VA

Pay: $26 - $40 / hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: As a Plumbing Mechanic, you will perform advanced plumbing work, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex plumbing systems with minimal supervision. You will also lead and train junior mechanics and be responsible for highly specialized tasks and systems.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Lead the installation and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures
2. Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
3. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
4. Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and regulations
5. Train and supervise junior plumbing mechanics
6. Conduct groover operations and perform precise layout work
7. Install and maintain grease traps and booster pumps
8. Conduct backflow testing and repairs

Essential Skills & Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a plumbing mechanic or related role
3. Expert knowledge of plumbing tools, materials, and techniques
4. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
5. Excellent communication and leadership abilities
6. Completion of an advanced apprenticeship program or equivalent training
7. Proficiency in using groovers for pipe installations
8. Ability to perform precise layout work
9. Experience with installing and maintaining grease traps and booster pumps
10. Knowledge and experience in backflow testing and repairs
